- A big fire broke out on the Korba Visakha Express train between Korba and Visakhapatnam. According to initial reports, three coaches were enveloped in flames. The incident occurred at Visakhapatnam Railway Station not long ago.
- Upon receiving the alarm, railway security forces, police, state disaster management teams, and firefighters rushed to the location. They immediately began rescue operations. The initial source of the fire appears to be a short circuit in one of the AC coaches.
- According to eyewitnesses, the fire started shortly after the train arrived at the platform this morning. The fire entirely damaged the B6, B7, and A1 coaches, with thick smoke pouring as the flames intensified. The fire started in the AC carriages.
- The 18517 Express left Korba at 4:10 PM on Saturday and traveled through Bilaspur Junction, Raipur Junction, Mahasamund, Parvathipuram Town, Parvathipuram, Bobbili, Vizianagaram Junction, and Simhachalam before arriving at Visakhapatnam.
- The fire was discovered when a large cloud of smoke erupted within the A1 coach. Quick-thinking passengers sounded the alarm and evacuated. Moments after, the fire broke out and quickly spread to all three coaches. Emergency responders, including RPF members, police, state disaster management forces, and the fire department, rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. The fire is likely to have been started by a short circuit in the AC bus.
