Sean Kingston Arrested on Fraud Charges in California – Report |

Rapper Sean Kingston found himself in legal trouble as he was arrested in California on Thursday on alleged fraud charges. This came after a SWAT team raided his rented mansion in South Florida, leading to the arrest of his 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner.
Reports suggest that the Broward County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Kingston’s arrest without incident, executing a Florida warrant near Fort Irwin, approximately 150 miles northeast of Los Angeles.The raid at Kingston’s 14,000-square-foot residence in Southwest Ranches, a high-end suburb, resulted in authorities seizing a significant amount of property.
While Broward County prosecutors remained tight-lipped about specifics, citing an ongoing investigation, reporters witnessed law enforcement officers loading goods into vans outside the mansion. Sean Kingston, known for hits like ‘Beautiful Girls’ and ‘Take You There,’ took to Instagram earlier that day to address the situation, assuring his followers that he and his mother were okay.However, attorney Robert Rosenblatt, representing Sean and his mother, stated they were aware of the allegations and looked forward to addressing them in court.
Sean Kingston’s legal issues aren’t new; he’s currently on probation for trafficking stolen property, according to Florida Department of Corrections records.
His mother, Janice Turner, previously served prison time for bank fraud. She was held at the Broward jail on a $160,000 bond. Meanwhile, Kingston faces extradition to Florida from California, where he’ll be held pending resolution.

The arrest stemmed partly from a lawsuit filed against Kingston in February by Ver Ver Entertainment, alleging fraud related to a 232-inch television installation. Attorney Dennis Card, who witnessed Turner’s arrest, claimed Sean Kingston misled the company into providing him the TV, promising commercials featuring him and Justin Bieber. Despite a partial payment of $30,000, Kingston allegedly failed to fulfill the agreement.
Although the lawsuit involved Bieber, Card clarified the singer’s lack of involvement in the fraud case. Kingston, Card argued, exploited his past collaboration with Bieber to bolster his image. Kingston’s legal issues compound his career stagnation, as he hasn’t released a major label album in over a decade.

The arrest and subsequent legal proceedings cast a shadow over Kingston’s reputation and career.
