The friendship between Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan is evident from their public interactions and social media posts, showcasing their close bond. But not many know that Janhvi was once fired from a film and was replaced by Sara Ali Khan.
Actress Janhvi who is currently on a promotional spree of her upcoming film ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi,’ was questioned about a past incident where she was removed from a film because she spoke about being a part of it when she wasn’t authorized to do so.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Janhvi was asked about the time when she was fired from a film because she told people that she was a part of it. Upon hearing this, Janhvi mentioned that someone else had completed the film, and it had already been released in theatres. When asked if it was Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi confirmed. There have been earlier indications that Janhvi was removed from Simmba and replaced by Sara Ali Khan.
Meanwhile, A 2018 report by Mumbai Mirror said that the reason behind this was that Janhvi had already started speaking about working with Ranveer Singh, when she was contractually forbidden to do so.
For the unversed, ‘Simmba’ was released in the same month as Sara Ali Khan’s debut film Kedarnath in 2018. Just a few months prior to that, Janhvi had made her debut with Dhadak, also produced by Dharma Productions.
In the same interview, Janhvi was also asked about the time when she was promoting her film Dhadak, as the interviewer recalled being advised to avoid asking questions about Sridevi. Janhvi expressed that even during interviews, she talks about her mother after every 2-3 sentences, sharing things her mother said or told her. She added that it makes her feel like her mother is traveling somewhere and will come back eventually.
Meanwhile, ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is slated to hit the big screens on May 31, 2024.
