Test conditions for the 905-horsepower Lotus Electre, an SUV with remarkable speed claims, were ideal at the Ambi Valley airfield. Our goal is to find out if this electrec SUV is the fastest in the nation.

Knowing How to Use the Lotus Electre
With its enormous dual electrec motors, this amazing car generates an astounding 995 horsepower. Although electrec SUVs are generally recognized for their superior power delivery compared to their internal combustion equivalents, the Lotus Electre has a special obstacle in the form of its weight. With a weight of 2.6 tons (2640 kg), the vehicle’s huge battery plays a major role in its bulk.
The Electre’s 112 kW battery weighs about 650 kg, making it nearly as long as an S-Class. With a drag coefficient of just 0.26, the SUV manages to reduce its considerable curb weight—a remarkable achievement for a car its size. To maximize airflow, aerodynamic channels are interwoven throughout the vehicle, and a two-speed transmission akin to the Porsche Taycan is included.
Testing for Performance
We tested the Lotus Electre on a hot and windy day with less than perfect surface conditions. With our v-box timing gear installed, we were prepared to test the limits of this SUV. It was simple to release the vehicle in track mode and without launch control: place the left foot on the brake, the right foot on the accelerator, and then release.
The Electre doesn’t feel very strong at first, but it picks up a lot of power very quickly and charges ahead. The v-box reached 100 km/h and 200 km/h quickly, with a record-breaking timing of 3.1 seconds for the 0-100 km/h race. For a car its size, this is a remarkable accomplishment.
Examination of the Acceleration
We carried out multiple runs in order to better grasp the acceleration of the Lotus Electre. Upon observing the acceleration from first to second gear and the acceleration time from 140–150 km/h to 200 km/h, it was evident that this SUV is incredibly swift. With each acceleration, the car smashes into the seat, shifting at 130 km/h and reaching 200 km/h in a flash.
The most amazing thing is that it continues to propel forward at a speed of more than 150 or 160 km/h, exerting an unseen but potent force. With times of 9.67 seconds for 0-200 km/h and 4 seconds for 150-200 km/h, the Lotus Electre is a remarkable example of a high-performance SUV.
India’s Fastest SUV
Due to its superior performance over the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Lamborghini Urus Performante, the Lotus Electre is now the fastest SUV in India. The electrec motors, which offer greater torque and responsiveness, are the key to its speed. Compared to combustion engines, electrec motors offer quicker on-off switching and also function better with traction control systems.
In summary
Regarding SUVs with exceptional performance, the Lotus Electre establishes a new benchmark. In addition to being the fastest SUV in India, its unique engineering, power, and speed combine to create an incredible illustration of what electric vehicles are capable of.
