NEW DELHI: A video footage of people singing Nazi slogan in North Sea island of Sylt, Germany has gone viral on social media prompting outrage in the country.
The mob screamed “Foreigners out!” and “Germany for Germans” when Gigi D’Agostino’s smash party song “L’Amour Toujours” played at a bar in the resort town of Kampen, a popular destination for wealthy German vacationers.
The video, which is only a few seconds long and has gone popular on social media since Thursday, shows young men and women smiling as they yell racist slurs. One man appears to be indicating a Hitler moustache with his fingertips on his upper lip.
The slogan and the Nazi salute are illegal in Germany.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz reacted to the video calling it “disgusting”.
“Such slogans are disgusting. They are not acceptable”, he said in a post on X.

Distancing itself from the people seen in the video, pub operators wrote on Instagram, “We distance ourselves from any kind of racism and discrimination. If we had known about the incident, we would of course have expelled the guests in question. There is no place for racism!!!”
